These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Light Beyond website and related online features controlled by Light Beyond, Inc. (“Light Beyond”). By using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

Light Beyond is a nonprofit organization that provides coaching, educational, personal-development, and survivor-support programming. Website content is provided for general informational purposes and does not itself create a coaching-services, professional, fiduciary, or other service relationship. Participation in a Light Beyond program may be subject to a separate written agreement, intake process, or program-specific terms. These Terms govern use of the website and related online features and do not amend, replace, or modify a separate written agreement between Light Beyond and a participant concerning coaching or other program services.

Light Beyond is not an emergency service, crisis shelter, or emergency-response provider. Website information is not psychotherapy, clinical counseling, medical or psychiatric treatment, legal or financial advice, case management, crisis intervention, emergency response, or another licensed professional service, and it is not a substitute for assistance from an appropriately licensed or specialized professional. If you believe you or another person may be in immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

You may use the website for lawful, personal, and informational purposes. You may not interfere with website security or operation; attempt unauthorized access; introduce malicious code; harvest personal information; impersonate another person; use the website to harass, threaten, exploit, or defraud others; or copy, republish, distribute, or commercially exploit website content except as permitted by law or with written authorization.

Except for third-party materials identified as belonging to others, website text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, and other content are owned by or licensed to Light Beyond and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Materials used or provided in connection with a Light Beyond program may be owned by Light Beyond or licensed or otherwise made available by third parties and may be subject to the applicable participant or program agreement. No license is granted except the limited right to view and use the website for its intended purpose.

Donations, program registrations, and other payments may be processed through third-party providers. Any program fee, refund, withdrawal, or cancellation terms stated in a separate coaching or program agreement control over these website Terms. Unless Light Beyond expressly accepts a restricted gift, donations are used to support Light Beyond’s charitable mission and programs in accordance with applicable law and organizational needs.

The website may link to third-party hotlines, service providers, partner organizations, payment processors, social-media platforms, video services, or other websites. Light Beyond does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices, or services of unaffiliated third parties. A link does not by itself imply endorsement.

Light Beyond’s Privacy Policy describes how personal information collected through the website and related online communications is handled. Please review that policy before submitting personal or sensitive information. Program-specific confidentiality obligations are governed by the applicable participant agreement and any additional written program notices.

The website is subject to Light Beyond’s General Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Separate participant or program agreements govern coaching and program services and control over these Terms, the General Disclaimer, and the website Limitation of Liability in the event of a conflict concerning those services. Changes to website legal pages do not amend a separate participant or program agreement.

Light Beyond may update website content or these Terms and may modify, suspend, or discontinue website features when reasonably necessary. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Material changes will apply prospectively to website use after the updated Terms are posted, except as otherwise required by law. Updates to these Terms or other website content do not modify the terms of a separate written participant or program agreement.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Before commencing an action arising out of or relating to these Terms or use of the website, the parties will make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute through direct written communication, unless immediate judicial relief is reasonably necessary.

Subject to applicable law, any action arising out of or relating to these Terms or use of the website that is not resolved informally must be brought in the state or federal courts serving Lancaster County, South Carolina, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking temporary or emergency judicial relief when reasonably necessary to protect safety, confidentiality, intellectual property, or other rights for which immediate relief is appropriate.
